I'm currently an Algo Dev Intern at Hudson River Trading, though in a (fairly recent) past life I was an experimental particle physicist working on the ATLAS experiment at CERN.

Brief history

I studied physics at Reed College (BA, 2021), then earned my PhD in experimental particle physics at Harvard University (2025). For nearly six years (undergrad, grad school, and a brief postdoc stint) I worked on the ATLAS experiment at CERN, where I split my time between large-scale data analysis, machine learning research, and hardware projects.

My physics research revolved around the search for physics beyond the Standard Model. I developed and deployed novel unsupervised machine learning methods for anomaly detection and performed precise measurements of Standard Model processes. I also developed control and data-acquisition software for the ATLAS Inner Tracker upgrade, a new silicon tracking detector to be installed in preparation for the High-Luminosity LHC.

I recently moved from academia into quantitative finance, and now I'm an Algorithm Developer at HRT.
